The best career I’ll ever have, the profession where I’ll never stop learning, and the job that is worth all sacrifices, is being a mother to my children.

Hey there, super mums! Are you ready to take on the world?

Being a mum is a full-time job in itself, but what happens when you also have aspirations to be a successful business owner? For many women, the desire to pursue entrepreneurship doesn't fade with motherhood; instead, it becomes a balancing act of managing both roles effectively. While it may seem daunting, with the right mindset and strategies, it's entirely possible to thrive as both a mum and a business owner.

Don't worry, though—I've got some tips and tricks to share with you on how to rock both roles like a boss. From juggling schedules to finding time for yourself, let's dive into the wonderful world of being a mum and a business owner together!

As a stay-at-home mum, I know firsthand the challenges of managing a daily routine while tending to an energetic and curious child who always craves attention. But you might wonder, is it really possible to find the time and motivation to pursue a business venture in the midst of this chaos? Let me address some common questions that often pop up.

Is it easy? Well, easier than learning multiplication tables, mastering a new language (especially when it's not your native tongue like my case with English—I'm Lithuanian), or even giving birth? Yes, surprisingly, it can be. It all boils down to your determination and willpower. Just like you needed math skills to count money (which they teach you in school) or language skills to communicate in a foreign country, if you're a mum-to-be, you know you have to go through pregnancy and childbirth. So, if you feel that itch for purpose and occupation beyond motherhood, finding the time and motivation to chase your dreams becomes essential. And when you look at your child, they become your "why"—your motivation and the vision of the future you're working towards.

Will it demand a lot of time? Money? Initially, you'll invest as much time as you can spare. Over time, you'll gain proficiency, allowing you to pick the best parts of your day to focus on your business. As for money, invest what you can afford comfortably with your earnings, and take it slow as you aim for higher goals.

Finding the perfect balance between being a mum and running a business is like embarking on a thrilling adventure, isn't it? It's all about learning how to seamlessly integrate the two so that neither aspect of your life gets neglected. I totally get how you might be feeling, that's why I have some tips for you.

1.Embrace Flexibility

One of the most significant challenges of being a mum and a business owner is the need for flexibility. Your schedule may not always go according to plan, especially when unexpected parental duties arise. Embrace flexibility by setting realistic expectations for yourself and your business. Understand that some days you may need to prioritise your family over work, and vice versa. Finding a balance that works for you and your family is key to maintaining your sanity and productivity.

2. Establish Boundaries

Setting boundaries is crucial when juggling the responsibilities of motherhood and entrepreneurship. Define specific working hours and communicate them to your family, clients, and team members. Let them know when you're available and when you need uninterrupted time to focus on work. Similarly, establish boundaries with yourself to prevent burnout. Remember that it's okay to say no to extra commitments if they interfere with your well-being or family time.

3. Delegate and Outsource

As a mum and a business owner, you can't do it all alone. Learn to delegate tasks both at home and in your business to lighten your load. Whether it's hiring a babysitter, outsourcing administrative tasks, or partnering with freelancers, delegating allows you to focus on high-priority activities that drive growth and success. Trusting others to handle certain responsibilities not only frees up your time but also empowers them to contribute to your shared goals.

4. Prioritise Self-Care

Self-care often takes a backseat when you're juggling multiple roles, but it's essential for your well-being and overall effectiveness as a mum and a business owner. Make time for self-care activities that rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul, whether it's exercising, meditating, or indulging in a hobby you love. Remember that taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's necessary for you to show up as the best version of yourself for your family and your business.

5. Stay Organised

Organisation is key to successfully managing the chaos of motherhood and entrepreneurship. Utilise tools and systems to keep track of your tasks, appointments, and deadlines. Whether you prefer a digital calendar, task management app, or old-fashioned planner, find a method that works for you and stick to it. By staying organised, you can minimise stress and maximise your productivity, allowing you to tackle both mum duties and business responsibilities with ease.

6. Cultivate a Supportive Network

Surround yourself with a supportive network of fellow mums and entrepreneurs who understand the unique challenges you face. Lean on them for advice, encouragement, and solidarity during both the triumphs and the struggles. Whether it's joining a local mumpreneur group, participating in online communities, or attending networking events, connecting with like-minded individuals can provide invaluable support and inspiration on your journey.

7. Celebrate Your Successes

Finally, don't forget to celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem. Whether it's landing a new client, achieving a work-life balance breakthrough, or simply surviving a hectic day with your sanity intact, take the time to acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments. Celebrating your wins not only boosts your morale but also reinforces your confidence in your ability to thrive as both a mum and a business owner.

Think of it as a puzzle—you're piecing together the different parts of your life to create a beautiful, harmonious picture. Your role as a mum, your business endeavors, and your personal passions all fit together in their own unique way. Sometimes it might feel like you're juggling a dozen balls at once, but with patience, determination, and a sprinkle of creativity, you'll find that sweet spot where everything just clicks.

Remember, it's okay to take it one step at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is the perfect balance between motherhood and entrepreneurship. So, embrace the journey, celebrate your victories (no matter how small), and don't be afraid to pursue your dreams wholeheartedly. After all, you're not just a mum or a business owner—you're a superhero who can do it all.

You've got this, mum! And I'm here cheering you on every step of the way.

I would love you to share experiences with me and follow me on my life "journey". :)

See you soon!
